Choosing Credit Card
03/14/2008
Credit Card Habits

All people are equal. But every person is individual. We have different tastes and preferences. We like different food. We wear different clothes. All this reflects our personality and our individual lifestyle. But do we have some specific credit card style?

These days you can find a great variety of offers on the credit card market for numerous consumer categories and types of credit history. But even with such a wide range of plastics credit card companies offer, sometimes it is not that easy to find the deal that will perfectly suit you. The thing is that all of us have our own conception of dealing with credit cards.

So how is our individual financial lifestyle formed? Our financial behavior originates from our habits we acquired in childhood. Imitating our parents' money spending habits is one of the most wide-spread ways to mould our adult model of financial behavior.

If a child is brought up in a family of big spenders, he or she has chances to inherit such spending habits and become an irresponsible card holder. But if parents are careful and reasonable in their spendings, if they pay bills on time and do not get into big debts, and if they set an example to their kids, then children are most likely to become savvy credit consumers.

If you try to analyze your financial behavior and make some simple conclusions, it will help you a lot in choosing the best credit card for you.

Choosing a Plastic to Fit Your Credit Card Style

Your current spending habits are another key element of your credit card style. If you use credit cards to make most of your everyday purchases, then a cash back credit card will be a perfect choice for you. You can also consider getting some other rewards credit cards. For instance, if you want to save money on gas, you can apply for a gasoline card offer. This way you will get rebates just for using your plastic. But be careful with rewards cards' terms and conditions, their APR is usually higher that interest rates accrued to other types of plastics.

If you want to express your special financial status or just show off a little bit, you can apply for Gold, Platinum, Diamond or even Black status credit cards. Such cards do not necessarily require good or excellent credit history, but they are considered to be prestigious and offer you generous bonuses and good options. The Black ones give you the most unbelievable rewards and exclusive benefits. But it is really hard to qualify for them.

Practical people with good or excellent credit score who value quality and content, rather than form, can apply for excellent credit cards, designed especially for them or for low interest credit cards. Such offers give you maximum benefit.

Student credit cards are great for young and independent. Business owners will appreciate business credit cards. They do not just show that you are a business person, but with such deals you will make the most of your business.

Your credit card is your "business card" in the world of plastic. Once you choose a deal that fits your everyday spending habits and your financial lifestyle in general, you will really feel that your credit card is an integral part of your financial life. But, of course, your image is nothing, in general. The way you manage your credit cards is more important.

As for me, I drive a lot and I prefer gasoline credit cards. I am also a NASCAR fan, so I have a plastic with Jeff Gordon (he's my favorite) on the cover. The offer really helps me to save money, besides I am looking forward to get some of the exclusive bonuses from NASCAR rewards program. Collecting points

Restaurant Credit Cards Regulations

Paying with credit cards has become so common nowadays, that you will hardly find a retailer or some services provider that do not accept plastics. You can stop at Starbucks on your way to work, buy a latte for $2.60 and pay with a credit card for it. That is quite normal. When you take a girl on a date to a restaurant and each one of you pays with your own cards, that is fine.
But when you go out to eat somewhere in a company of 5, 7 or more friends, this can cause troubles. To be more exact, not for you, but for restaurant staff and owners. What is the problem?
